Ju-DO or Ju-DON'T

The National Governing Bodies of Judo exist for two reasons: Standards and Quality. In the United States there exists only three which are recognized by the Kodokan in Japan. They are USJA , USA Judo , and the USJF . These three governing bodies exist to carry on the tradition of Judo training here in our country with the sole purpose of building students, teaching the art, and producing quality practitioners through the practice of technical training and randori, that is to say live training under pressure. The ranking standards are hard and meant to be so for the express reason of making each rank earned and not given....and certainly not meant to be purchased. However there have been those organizations which would have you believe they are connected to the Kodokan through other means.
