A New Man Indeed
A New Man Indeed
by
Gerald J. Greysmith
Greetings all. This will be a general entry. I am still adjusting to my new position here, and want to start kind of slow. I do want to begin by saying thank you in advance for the support you have all shown Greysmith Investigations and my late predecessor, Mr. Gerald Gregory Greysmith. It is with support from our readers that we have managed to bring to you the stories we felt were most important to tell. From martial arts frauds to other con-men and shady organizations Greysmith Investigations has for years helped from the shadows freely and without compensation the victims of numerous crimes. We have assisted law enforcement agencies in obtaining evidence for cases, brought to light the crimes and lies of those who would use deceptive methods to coerce and entangle unsuspecting potential students of the martial arts, and lastly we help bring peace to those who were affected in the most negative ways imaginable.
If you have been following the work the team put out over the last year or so one has to agree that it is quite a lot to see. From the complete story of Konigun Ninjutsu and the man who created it all, Bryce Dallas you can see the depth the members will go to in order to get the truth to you. Note that I said truth, not half-truths. Despite the claims of some there is much to be said about what was done there. I personally had nothing to do with that part of the projects we work on. But I was there to see it completed by Gregory and the culmination of what was essentially half a lifetime of effort on his behalf as well as Cayce Lancaster's.
From there it was defended against David "Dorian" Richardson. Richardson founded his own eclectic style of ninjutsu merged between what he learned from Frank Dux and in his studies in the Bujinkan. Grasping as tightly as he could to a sho-dan rank, rather a first degree black belt and some pics he took as souvenirs from one encounter with Stephen K. Hayes and his wife Rumiko, Richardson would pounce like a sickness on members of the forum Bullshit Martial Arts claiming all sorts of ludicrous ends that not even an Olympic level gymnast could navigate. And from there the team moved to work on debunking the claims of Bret Gordon and Steven Hatfield. These two have proven to be more interesting than originally thought as those of you paying attention in recent weeks have found.
These two, along with numerous others who have been involved with them reads as a who's who of alleged frauds in the martial arts community. Heading numerous organizations which at this point seem to end and begin with them or someone close to them it is not uncommon to find them heading various "Boards of Directors" on these webpages. I can count close to a dozen I have seen them on since I began working with Gerald Gregory Greysmith back in April on this lengthy project.
I think it is fair to state here the very issues Bret himself has found himself entangled in.
1) Defamation, Slander and Lying - In May 2020 he wrote a very lengthy and defamtory piece about a Judo teacher by the name of Barron Shepherd. In it he claimed numerous times that Barron was not certified, his teachers in Judo and Kenpo were non-existent, and that he had possibly even lied about his ranks. This was proven, literally line by line mind you, to be false from start to finish. If one wishes they can see the links below to verify both Bret's own article on the issue and the one released by our team here.
Greysmith Investigations Article
The reasons for his article are vague but apparently both he and Steven, his teacher, took offense to Barron pointing out that their use of a Kodokan Judo card did not certify them as Judo players, nor offered proof of rank. He also pointed out the very robust nature of their physiques. But Bret at least admits milkshakes are his friends. Trust me pal, it shows.
2) Plagiarism and Misrepresentation - Next up on our list of issues includes the existence of a mysterious master known as Hasaka Yutashi. According to Bret he inherited a system called American Yoshinkan Aikijujutsu from Steven who Bret and apparently Steve both claim was created by this Yutashi fellow. Bret even wrote a piece attempting to explain the strange nature of the name of this man which was found to have been copy and pasted from a site online with the very...same...words. Yes, so add plagiarism to his journalism credentials as well. He did this in response to our team releasing an email received from the Yoshinkan Aikido Hombu in Japan. Humorously they also related to my predecessor that the name was actually hilarious and sounded nothing like a Japanese name. But Bret continues to assert that Yutashi changed his name multiple times across his life.
And for reference, the site where Bret appears to have taken his information possibly word for word.
Also, another site almost word for word.
There were even a few others, but we can limit it here with a screenshot to show the blatant use of another site to pad his own.
If you read the above text you can see clearly from one of the presented sites on the left, simply compare to the right and you can see that this very much a copy and paste. Also putting in the key body of the text brought up these sites side by side with Bret's blog at USAMA.
3) Unexplained Ranks, Certifications and Titles Galore - now I have been involved in martial arts a good bit of time. I'm 30 years old as of November, and since I was 16 have been studying them. Starting in Tae Kwon Do I have the respectable rank of 3rd degree black belt after 10 years. My predecessor Gregory taught me freely the style of Silat and Escrima as well. But one thing I have noted is that the highest ranking people in the martial arts world are often the oldest. While this is not ALWAYS the case we can see that with age comes experience. Age can mean both your own age as well as the age of time in the martial arts.
Well, what we know for certain are the insane amount of ranks and titles Bret claims across time and space. At the ripe old age of 28 years he has amassed quite a collection. From tiles such as Kaiso, to as seen above Fuko Kaicho, I have also seen him in possession of a 7th Dan in Aikibudo awarded to him by Leon Major (yep, Bret we translated that one) to being the inheritor of the Yoshinkan system he claimed about a year or two later I believe. This was taken from a picture we found on his own page and had a neutral third party translate.
He also claims to have a Judo rank now, given to him through the USTKJ organization, which conveniently I should mention is NOT one of the three governing bodies of the art in the United States, and therefore not officially recognized by the Kodokan. Now Bret would have a fit here, as he has written articles himself bashing those NGB's. But in a short span of time he has gained at last I saw a nidan, or 2nd dan in Judo. His teacher, Steve, however has a rank that goes both up AND down. They claim a Judo lineage from Jack Stern, an avowed fraud himself who was also convicted of Stolen Valor in 1996. Is it a bad time to mention Steven is claiming either 4th or 5th dan now, which contradicts something....well, later on we can get to that.
Ultimately it comes down to the simple fact it is easier to pay for a rank than to earn it. And from the looks of the Judo Steven shows and the grappling Bret teaches are lackluster and are not in my own opinion the skill level of grapplers I know with years of experience and sacrifice.
On another note I want to bring up that it has also been reported that on a trip to Okinawa Steven reportedly paid for his sandan in Goju Ryu that was probationary. This cost also allowed him to certify on a probationary status Leon Major and Bret. Yeah Steve. We had someone tell us about that. I hope you got back to Okinawa and tested out. Also, wasn't this a demotion? You claimed on several locations that you were a godan in Goju Ryu for years. Must be a different organization. I mean, honestly at this point what would one more black belt really be for you guys?
4) Alleged Rank Selling and Diploma Mills - Bret of course claims now that his USAMA site is no longer cross-certifying ranks nor will they rank others in another art. They will recognize a rank for a paltry $150.00 membership fee still. But no longer will they be offering certifications of any kind.
My issue here is that if you had to say it now after years of doing so you were in fact a diploma mill. This is simply double-talk honestly. They were offering certifications in numerous things before and then stopped? Is that it? I mean we see the number of ranks he and his friends all have. I personally would think if we counted them all up them and their buddies at the top would honestly have more ranks between them than they do students altogether. But the silver lining is all the scrutiny, by Bret's own admission, is good for business! So that's a plus and may you continue to have those same blessings everyday. Someone out there is going to want to be a high black belt dan rank in Krav Maga or even Ninjutsu...which you seem to not offer surprisingly.
No More Certifications - NOT A DIPLOMA MILL (ANYMORE)
5) Hiding Facts, Covering Tracks - this one is a big one, and one best left to the articles all written about the situation. In August of this year it was found that Bret had long listed the name of a man named Patrick Justice on his webpage for his American Jidokwan. Yes, he has yet another organization. My predecessor organized us when it was reported that this man, Patrick Justice, was listed as having a 9th degree black belt in Jidokwan on the site. Well, in one article he was mentioned and within literal hours Bret scrubbed his entire site of the man's existence. I swear it was like we were living under the rule of INGSOC or something! He was simply vanished from existence in moments. Now in typical fashion Bret ran to writing his articles, showing support for anti-pedophilia and anti-rape organizations and was flaunting his SafeSport certification. And then he did what most people are calling the dumbest thing in existence....he got Justice, a convicted sex offender who Bret tried to downplay as having possibly done something as simple as drunken sex, to write him a letter of reference to his and Steve's character and to attest that he did not want this to fall back onto them. Now I am far from being a genius. But I have to say if you are willing to let someone like that do such a thing your own character may be questionable as well.Guess it kinda helped that Justice and Steve were "life-long friends," and with that Bret admitted openly to our team via email that he kept Justice there so there would be no questions regarding the association's history.
6) Being Egotistical and Feigning Intelligence - this is probably his worst issue right here, a never-ending source of problems for him in all honesty. Throughout all things with Bret in the months leading to now I witnessed firsthand his outright nasty attitude and quick nature to alter his words on the fly. In a phone conversation Gregory with Bret some months ago one can hear his nervousness when he starts to be pressed on any question. For almost all situations he has a very rehearsed response. As someone with a background in film and theater I can tell that much when someone does that. Gregory was willing and able to fly to Japan that very day and meet with the Yoshinkan Hombu. He even informed him that he would be happy to help him obtain FURTHER verification for his alleged founder of his aikijujutsu system he claimed he had inherited from Steven. Instead of being grateful he switched and became insistent that Gregory come to visit him in Cleremont, Florida where they would go eat, talk a while, and then get on the mat a bit. Afterwards he would allow him to see the certifications he claimed.
Now, in listening to this...why would he get upset that our guy was willing to go to Japan to help him?
But worse still is his rationale to how he comes to conclusions. In his latest article, released on 9/22/20, he finally showed to our team just how quick he really is to latch onto an idea, true or not. See, back at the end of July Bret had been off and on running his mouth across social media that he was willing to meet up and handle issues, any issues mind you, in any means necessary it would seem. Well, someone took him up on that and issued a challenge. This man was named Dale Dugas. Reaching out to us here Dale spoke to me one morning and then he spoke to Greg. A plan was hatched to see if Bret really does research anything he claims. So, we asked him to drop subtle hints as to a "GG" to see if Bret would believe it or not. You see, GG was the signature of Greg when he sent emails. (GGG or G3 as it were.)
Now anyone who has heard myself, Cayce, HK, Sam or even Gregory himself speak knows Dale has a New England accent. But, as is typical Bret just knew he had figured out what he wanted and even managed to circle back around to the beginning and drag up the name of...you guessed it....Barron Shepherd. His evidence? Greg's arm obviously was just like Barron's.
Demanding to see Barron's arm in his latest article I think there are few things he looked over on that one.
While if Gerald Gregory Greysmith was here to see this he would have been absolutely thrilled to have him think that his arm was anywhere near as muscular as Barron's there is something else. See where I said Bret always assumes he is smarter than anyone else? Well, the guy in the pic with G3 there is a man by the name of Tracy Stephens, former top student to Bryce Dallas, the founder of Konigun Ninjutsu.
You can read all about that if ya want. I really recommend doing so.
Here, here, here, and here again. And that's just for starters.
And well, Tracy can vouch that the pic in question was taken in June of 2019 in Knightsville, South Carolina at a restaurant called El Jalapeno's. And a friend of Tracy's took the photo. And it was used to show that G3 had actually visited one of the longest training students of Bryce Dallas for an article he completed. Oh and he was also the most public to leave the Konigun organization, which he publicly did on E-Budo in 2006.
I know you so really wanted this to be true, that the man in the picture would be Barron, but Tracy has already been alerted to this issue and has spoken to me as early as the very day you put the article out Bret. And he has already agreed to respond if needed.
I think it is pertinent to mention as well that G3 was 6'3, Barron is 5'10, and Tracy there is about 5'8. So no, the Gerald in that pic is nowhere near built like Barron. You should probably go meet him sometime and compare his size to the guy in that picture.
And here we have Gerald Gregory holding the very book Tracy presented him, which was a gift from Bryce Dallas himself I believe directly to Tracy.
You keep mentioning research but I have to ask, are you even really reading anything else that was put out before now?
If it helps I am sitting here right now with Tracy's Konigun Ninjutsu manual in my hands. The very one he gave to Gregory on that same night. It was left with all the files on that project in boxes which I have in my possession ready to deliver to the college which THAT particular version of Gerald attended years ago for his Social Work degree.
You know what this means, right? He can give a sworn statement that you're wrong about Dale and about Barron. Because he met THE Gerald Gregory Greysmith. The same one who wrote the articles I linked to above. Also take note. Unlike Dale's arms, mine are kinda tat free on both forearms. The others one I have you will have to sweet talk me to get to see those.
Back on topic though I even took the initiative to email Mr. Stephens for all of us concerned.
And wouldn't you know it? Tracy got back to me today as a matter of fact.
So, in conclusion it would seem that these things just so far are glaring issues in a lot of your stuff Bret. And as I said, Dale agreed with our team to seed the information that he was "GG" in an effort to see if you would pick up on that entire fiasco (you did) and now you're seemingly mad because your entire case to prove the alleged identity of Gerald Greysmith has appeared to backfire. You have to admit that at this point it seems shaky AT BEST. If you are banking that the man in the pic with the arm and tattoo was Barron well...Barron recently posted a full view of his arm for you to see.
There is no "plausible deniability" here Bret. I think what you mean to say, rather need to say is you were as usual wrong. You ran towards something full speed ahead without thinking of the overall picture. Honestly the way in which Dale lays this all out in his videos asserting he was Gregory was comical and forced...done very purposefully. If you want I can do a video conference with him next, even live stream it for you on BSMA like I did this morning. I can also invite Barron and others into the mix to let you see all of us sitting there together. You have to admit the previous guy did no such thing like that. The last part is you need to ask yourself is simple. The story of Konigun was being researched by Gerald G. since 2005. Can you place either Dale or Barron in proximity of these things? Tracy was not the only person in that project to speak or even meet Gerald G. As a matter of fact Samantha Jade Delk wrote an article for us just this week. We also have others we can call upon who have actually been to the home of Gerald G. to offer support for our claim that neither of these men you have named are really the person you claim them to be.
As you can see. You tripled-down on your embellishments with Barron. Not to mention your constant need to defame any detractor to begin with along with everything else. And since I can prove that neither the previous Gerald nor myself are Barron nor Dale....what story can you tell now? Poker really is not your game. Wait...was that your line?
I am really getting dizzy from the spin cycle we seem to be on.
