The Biggest DIC

Ron Collins sits today in a Federal Prison somewhere that exists in a world all of it's own. Gone are the days of him posting random videos and blog entries decrying the treatment of him by the hands of his detractors. Left in the wake of such destruction on one life is the blame being flung onto the shoulders of the members of groups like Bullshido, BSMA, and others who dared to ever step up and say anything negative against the West Virginia Wildcat. 

Ron shows off that award-winning physique that made him famous at Waffle Houses across the nation.

And so it was that Collins became the poster boy for all frauds to rise to, as Lordus Sapiens pointed out, that he was one of the ONLY ones to put forth a challenge, travel to face them and promptly run away. 

But at least he showed up! Additionally I will posit that he, along with Lee Maurer, Bryce Dallas and a few others who fall into this small group have been the ONLY ones to actually show up and take a challenge against their so-called good names so far as we have been able to tell.

For Collins he made the trip to Florida and camped out on the couch of Ashida Kim to face-off against Barron Shepherd and decided at the last minute to cut and waddle away as fast as his Hobbit-sized legs could carry him. Truly a great story, and one I have had the pleasure to have shared with me by those in the know. Later he would come backed by members of the Black Dragon Fighting Society to include "Grandmaster" Irving Soto himself to fight Don Roley. This video was very public and shown to everyone who all agreed Ron appeared as plump as a bag of M&M's ready to be torn open.

Even Lee Maurer threw himself at boxers and fighters, took the ass-whooping he got and walked away from it with his head up. And this is a guy with a past as checkered as a chess board. Maurer however did take the time to put up or shut up much like Collins did against Icy Mike later on. Sadly it took about two good shots from him before Collins realized he probably should not have had Golden Corral prior to the fight. I will say Maurer, from the videos I was able to see, took the fight a bit more seriously and actually went the limit he was given. Collins just laid down and took a nap.

This article, however, is not dedicated to these men I have mentioned. As much fun as it could be to sit and hammer on Collins for any number of issues (his talent to make donuts vanish are legendary) I have to say a new person has entered the fray now, and has already been discussed here before. Oh, and in other places as well. As a matter of fact two new articles were recently published about this young man from Florida who has at last been given a chance to prove himself on the mat with someone more than willing to face him. 

That's right, dear readers. I'm talking about none other than our good friend and headmaster himself....

I have made no secret as to why I began to research the legitimacy of Mr. Gordon on several occasions. For those who need a recap he wrote a defamatory article on Barron Shepherd and was found to have embellished the story quite a great bit. Then he doubled down, accused me of stalking, accused Cayce of being a lawyer without a license, accused us of being private investigators illegally hence the stalking accusation. 

And it was with great delight that as soon as that all took place the scrutiny began in full force. From various people who had never heard of him, his teacher, his styles or his alleged organizations which all seem to stem from one central direction (Bret and Steve are the heads of many, many such organizations) that they drew attention to themselves with a photo and post found of all places on Gordon's own Facebook page.

You see as it turns out Gordon put this here back on July 30th, 2020 and, as one can read, stated if someone has an issue with him say it to his face. Well that's all well and good to tell people in other time zones. But as Don Roley and Lordus have both pointed out and I'm sure you guessed....

Someone did reach out and even more interestingly they are only a couple of hours away from his location.

A wild Dale appears!

Doctor Dale Dugas, AP, a long-time member of various Kung Fu styles and  sites dedicated to fraud-busting, as well as being a legitimately trained martial arts practitioner himself offered to challenge both Bret along with his teacher Steve. He did this publicly, he did this without reservation, he laid out specific terms to be met, and as you can see from the above video Dale ensured to make known he was willing to meet them at his school (well, Bret rents space from another instructor in the area so it ain't actually his school.)

And what did Bret do in return? Puzzled, disturbed even, he made this video in response to Dale challenging him.

Well from here you begin to see Bretty-boy was following a similar pattern as taken by many before him and no, I doubt he will be the last. His Facebook was aflame with the comments of those who echoed what Bret wanted to hear basically. 

Seriously. Many of them who chimed in were apparently believers in the fact that he is an alleged headmaster of an aikijujutsu system founded in America by a Japanese man who's name is totally NOT Japanese. I mean, unless you count the page which Bret plagiarized that Kari-Kari from to substantiate a claim. (Yes Bret, we found that page and you copied it word for word in part of your blog.)

The Face of Pure Terror.

So to begins that Dale was actually quite public that he wanted all responses on video as well as uploaded to social media in regards to this challenge. This was to ensure all parties were accountable to each other and to the public who suddenly began watching with an earnest love of what may be to come.

Bret though...wheeeewwwww....nope. No, he demanded Dale talk to him on the phone. But this would not enable transparency. For those who remember it was about a week prior to this I offered via email and publicly to BSMA and my own social media a possible debate with Bret and even offered up Zoom or another video chat if need be. Of course he turned me down and stated we had nothing to talk about despite there being a platitude of things we could discuss openly and I'm sure safely in a private forum that the public can see but not comment on.

But back to Bret. Mind you he has me as well as many, many others who have questioned him over the past many months blocked on all social media. As a matter of fact he blocked me waaaaaay before I even began to look into his claims. Big red flag to future subjects. The moment you block me you make me feel like you have something to hide. But not Bret here. No, instead he even insinuated Dale could fight not only him but also his teacher Steve!

Dale demanded Bret name a time and place, and Bret opened his mouth here and challenged him back on behalf of Steve Hatfield, his sensei.

Yep, you read that right. Bret challenged Dale for Steve on his behalf. And then proceeded to insult Dale as much as he could by calling him fat and saying that he only punched his fupa. That's rich considering Bret appears to be sporting a fanny pack himself. Either way this was starting to draw a lot of attention from all corners and angles of the internet martial arts community on all sides. Bret's echo chambers were full of comments from people who weren't challenged egging him on. Going to bank and say that I doubt if confronted with the same issue many of them would have taken the challenge up themselves. 

Side note: one of his most ardent supporters is accused of promoting a yellow belt to shodan and then onwards to godan in a pretty lengthy year or so. Such is the caliber of folks that Bret surrounds himself with.

And here Dale agreed to the challenge of facing both.

However Bret continued to have this discussion on his page with Dale. And he never seemed to withdraw the challenge for Steve he made so kindly on his behalf. Strangely I saw no comments from his teacher on this issue whatsoever during this time (that has changed since.) 

Bret did mention that Dale had best hope he fought Bret before he faced Steve for some reason. I'm sure he was telling Bret what to say from across the dimensional barrier that is Facebook Messenger.

Somewhere in the distance Steve is waiting, watching...

Ok, let's take stock a moment. So far Bret has been challenged. He responded by trying to call Dale and invite him on a dinner date to a burger joint a block away. Then demanded regardless they talk over the phone where I assume only he can be heard talking to the challenger. This enables him to edit the clip and make sure it says what he wants it to, mind you. Dale on the other hand wanted everything done in the open by video responses to each other. He even brought out a waiver which upon inspection would hold up in court.

But ever the evasive one Bret ducked and dodged, effectively moving the goalpost against Dale in his efforts to shame him. Oh the slyness he concocted. He demanded Dale meet him for that dinner date after all knowing full well he had about 2 hours to respond, on a Friday, when Dale had commitments. By the way he made a lot of fun of the fact he had a date and was already committed. Dale had already agreed to the event in three weeks when Steve would be in town and ensured Bret knew this fact.

Like the fabled Merlin the Most Lame before him Bret posted a video and some photos of himself on the way to the meet-up that Dale had informed him he would not be able to make nor would meet him at. Apparently the fact Dale stated publicly he would appear at the dojo he works out of in three weeks fell on deaf ears. Damn that selective hearing/reading.

It was here that we can note that Bret had arrived at the conclusion Dale was not planning on coming and he had already planned on eating dinner at this establishment. He even commented he went with a ribeye instead. But it didn't deter him from posting a video with all the fury he could muster and lay out his intentions. 

Interestingly enough despite his message Dale clearly stated he would meet him in three weeks when his teacher was in town based entirely on his own suggestion.. I guess he was suffering from the 'itis from having that ribeye.

And Bret appeared to have agreed wholeheartedly.

SO WHA HUPPEN?

Well, like I said Bret took advantage of some various factors at work here. He blocked Dale from his social media. He then scheduled it when he knew Dale wouldn't have been able to make it nor could he due to prior engagements. Yes, Dale had a date. He also presented a chance for both he and his teacher to accept this challenge and never backtracked from it. And yes, Dale accepted it publicly. In retaliation he put up this screenshot later on an article claiming BSMA was defending a dick tuck by Dale as it didn't take four hours to get to him from Dale's clinic.

However he took advantage of traffic conditions. I checked through a friend of mine in the area. As a matter of fact when I called him to verify he was on the exact route Bretty-baby has placed here. Traffic was at a standstill and he was headed a little before Cleremont. This was at 5:45pm their time. He never got home until about 7:50pm that night. This would have put Dale according to our calculations at arrival around...9:00pm. This is the heart of Florida after all and people are going to the beaches, theme parks and the like on Fridays. I suppose Bret didn't take that factor into consideration. 

Future reference Bret: I make no claims I can't back here or verify. I seriously thought we had covered this fact.

Oh but the story gets better. Remember how I said he had blocked Dale? We found out thanks to a friend of Bret's posting a video to BSMA for Dale to find. If you looked at screenshots of it you will notice that he had it set to friends only being able to view it. Sadly the only copy I was able to procure of this was sent to me by someone who has been most helpful in all of this so far.

SANCTIONING AN MMA MATCH

After this the Kaiso himself released an article defending a previous subject of interest by the name of Dan Harmon. In it he claimed Harmon was cyber-bullied to the point of suicide by BSMA. 

On the same day he released another article calling us hypocrites and the like, also detailing his upcoming challenge match that to this point he was doing everything to avoid.

Where have I seen such behaviors before? Oh yes. That's right.

Following the examples of those before him Bret began to deflect all of this negative attention at those who, again, dared to question him. He was in a frenzy to explain away any one of us who had reached into his or Steve's past and verify the public information available to the wider audiences of the internet. In doing so he began a smear campaign which again isn't something we aren't used to by now and not above sharing these lovely fantasies when they do. At best they are masturbatory fantasies of what they wish we would do, but not what we actually do.

How I picture Bret as he deflects the issues once more.

I am not about to retread the story of Harmon again except to say he was a psychopath who wanted to murder people, beat his last girlfriend pretty badly and was facing hard time as a result due to the Three Strike Laws in Colorado. As this reality sunk into his mind he murdered himself to avoid prison while putting himself in a place he would be found by her. Oh, and he was a terrible father who held important medical information from their mother in an effort to manipulate her and put his child at risk even more.

This is typical of frauds I will say. They will defend those who victimized others to justify themselves and their actions. So far he has not deviated from past tactics of others.

Ron would be so proud.

But it was during this escapade that Bret changed his tactics totally. 

Yet again still choosing to ignore the fact that Dale agreed to face him in three weeks time he began to state publicly on social media as well as on the blog of Lordus Sapiens that he wanted a sanctioned MMA bout. 

So now he is demanding a "sanctioned MMA bout," despite the fact that Dale is over fifty years of age, will require an EKG and MRI which, if his insurance won't cover could run into the thousands of dollars. A fact not missed by those who commented as well to include myself.

Due to some of my comments to him in response to the use of the aforementioned film I received a surprising email from the Headmaster of Yoshinkan Aikijujutsu himself.

My responses were all cordial and despite this all going on I wish him no ill-will. However facts are facts. And in these missives he continued to detail how he wanted this all to be more than a glorified sparring match which he was sure not what Dale wanted in the first place.

With that we said our goodbyes as it was late and I have a life and actual training to do. But it was painfully obvious to me he was searching for a way to get Dale to leave him alone. This challenge was not going to go away no matter how much he stated he wanted it sanctioned, changed the terms, moved times and dates, nothing would change that he had misspoke many times during this. 

I can almost feel bad for him except for the fact he brought this all onto himself. From the very first conversation I had with Bret on the phone I informed him to be honest with me. I had already done my digging to debunk his stories of Barron Shepherd. And now his outlandish claims were bringing attention onto him that he did not want and most certainly did not need.

So it was Don and Lordus released articles about these behaviors and Bret in true form could not stay away. No, instead he continued to respond to Dale's goading with insults much the same as he had all along.

And finally on the night he demanded a challenge at his class he released his final video and, I assume, he considers the matter closed.

Sorry, this is the last video I promise.

AS OF TODAY

Well so far Bret has been quiet mostly. He released a new article today on his site.   In it he discusses how they are no longer offering rank recognition or certification any longer due to the stigma of diploma mills and such, I sit and read it and wonder if he was outright admitting that was what the USAMA was all along?

Talking with Cayce about this he agreed. This statement stood out to us both more than any other in that article:

"However, due to the massive stigma in the martial arts community regarding diploma mills and multi-style organizations, we have decided to no longer offer this service."

So, to Bret and Steve I have to ask some serious questions. Was your organization as it WAS a diploma mill? I mean we all know you were a BDFS member once Steve and you have been on record saying you were enamored with Frank Dux. I can only imagine his belt had something to do with that.

That aside, Bret will you acknowledge that you finally know Frank Dux in some capacity? I believe the criticisms you have launched at all of us in recent articles on your end were at least influenced by him or even David "Dorkian" Richardson. I may be wrong on that but I'm almost positive considering you have things he created for his many, many, many, many videos and posts which do nothing but play pointless music and make baseless allegations. 

Sort of like your articles did. Allegations that is.

You have deflected from the challenge Dale has made public. Are you going to accept this or not? I, along with others, informed you to seek out a neutral gym and have your match. I'm going to be honest, I don't think Dale wants a sparring match as you stated. No, I think he wants an actual fight. And he has agreed as I have pointed out many times that he would face you and your teacher at the same time IN THREE WEEKS TIME. Dale has been transparent and public and his stance has not wavered. Yours has.

Speaking of Dale...

He mentions a lot of skeletons in your closets. And this brings me to a final question which I actually doubt you will answer...at least you won't answer it to me. The USAMA is only one of your many organizations and claims to various ranks. But one in particular seems to grab at my attention and not because it  being an organization per se, but more the information you have to include some particular individuals.

I am talking of course about the American Jidokwan Association.

Now, I am quite familiar that you and Steve both have a Korean martial arts background. It is on record, Bret, that you have a legitimate 1st Dan from an instructor in Florida. That much I was able to glean from your Bullshido incident.

However, all your history aside from your site that you have, again, posted publicly, I can't help but scan it and see some details. One in particular seems to stick out. 

Hmmm...no. No that's not it.

AGH! No, that's not it either. I already know what you and Steve look like and am quite familiar with many of your claims so far.

Bear with me here....it's somewhere....wait a second....

Suddenly I am having a moment of clarity here. Yes, I think this may be what I'm looking for.

Ah, yes this is it. Indeed, I think not only myself but a lot of people would like to know an answer to what I'm looking at here.

Bret, Steven...I want to ask you something very serious. You say in your blogs, articles, and whatever else you have out there that you are always background checking people who train with you.

So with that said I think I'd like to ask you personally a very simple and straightforward question and this time I would like some honesty. Since this has nothing to do with your alleged teacher Yutashi, or any of your other many, many questionable affiliations which are at this point too numerous to name here, I think this question is one that needs to have an answer.

With that I will include these to help refresh your memories.
